“You are never too old to set another goal or dream another dream.”
— C.S. LEWIS —
If successful aging is described as “staying vital longer by reaching for and emphasizing the positive aspects of life, of seeing what is possible, instead of what is typical or expected,” then it becomes important to appreciate, and accommodate to, the changes of aging itself.
Counseling can help you redefine your vision of what you want your Golden years to look like. Many baby boomers are choosing to find meaningful work beyond “retirement.” They are choosing the most important relationships to focus time and energy into such as spouse, friends, and grandchildren. Time to spend on these relationships becomes more possible than in previous life stages. This time, while having some challenges can be one of the most fulfilling stages of life if we are deliberate and intentional as we move through.
