“The person who views the world at 50 the same way they did at 20 has wasted 30 years of their life.”

There is a reason the term “mid-life crisis” is so popular. Between juggling careers, kid’s activities, relationship conflicts, aging parents, financial responsibilities, teenagers, empty nest syndrome, launching adult children and an aging body there is a lot of “crisis” to be managed! Without even knowing it you may be experiencing a constant state of hyperarousal and stress that can lead to depression, anxiety, or burnout. Each one of the above stressors in and of themselves are enough to deal with at any one time, yet at this stage of life we often don’t have that luxury as they come simultaneously. Talking to a counselor can help you sift through your feelings, find solutions, or in some cases just accepting what cannot be changed and working on changing yourself.
